New Guides to the Life of Your Dreams!

Harmony

To be one with all: One with yourself, your surroundings, nature, others in your world and the Universe.  Spiritual Masters such as Yogis spend lifetimes in pursuit of this Oneness. Many find self- realization, others solely experiencing the nirvana of the moment.  Meditation, prayer and music, all can help you realize harmony in your inner and outer worlds.  Meditation specifically can ease you into a state of altered consciousness, bliss and oneness.  The process is through discipline, and to reach your ultimate goal it should be carried out consistently each day. A lot has been written about eharmony, it is the process of using the web to enhance your life.  There are articles below and in the webshop to assist you in the search for harmony.

Our home should be one place of respite, of peace and where we can recharge our souls.  Many look to the art of placement, (known as Feng Shui), to maximize energy alignment and flow.

We must see to the creation of our environments within and without.  Within: using resources that allow us control over our thoughts and emotions; creating the ability to invoke peace and a state of grace. This is simply done with an action or a thought/emotion.  Without: a physical place where we are in unison with our surroundings. Your home should be a primary one, a sacred space.  If you cannot create your whole home as  a sacred space, make at least one corner of it as such.

Often people travel outside of their home seeking peace.  A park is an excellent example of finding a place with harmony.  A museum is another example of this.

Harmony Tips for the Home:

  • Clear out clutter.  Clutter reminds us of all that we need to take care of and do not have time for.  Clutter also adds to dust, which adds to allergens and breathing discomforts.  The congestion of things in our space blocks a healthy flow of air and energy.
  • Bring in scent.  Science has proven that our olfactory senses elicit specific moods.  Think about your favorite fragrance and how it makes you feel.  In today’s world, it is very easy to infuse our homes with wonderful relaxing atmospheres by using scented candles, essential oils, or simply adding an herb such as clove to a pot of boiling water.
  • Change colors.  Bright, vibrant colors tend to keep us motivated and active.  These are great in a room where you want to stay awake and need to work.  Muted, subtle tones help you to relax and feel at ease.  Think about the entrance to your home, what colors are the first you see?  Stand in your entrance for a moment and notice how you feel after a long day.  An especially important consideration for color should be your bedroom where you rest and refresh.
  • Bring in the outside world inside with plants.  Gardens and nature have an automatically soothing effect on your psyche.  If not the actual plant, artificial plants or paintings that emulate the same type of feel.
  • Lots of favorites and beauties.  Your favorite things that make you smile and things that you see as beautiful are essential elements in truly having an environment that brings you peace and contentment.  Make displays (non-cluttered) filled with your favorites and beauties.

Harmony Exercise for You:

by Halley Elise

Please read first, then know that you have the ability to use your imagination skills to create mental images that will propel you into a better place.

Imagine a TV screen blank and ready for your thought projections.

On this screen there is nothing more then light, yet in a moment it will be filled by you and your images.

Your images of a world in which you are always in a peaceful, blissful, harmonious state.

First you’ll begin to see the light change in color to your favorite color.

Then you see what you feel like when all is well in your world.

Imagine what you you’d look like in this perfect state of calm.

Imagine what you feel like in this state and imagine all those around you noticing this tremendous outpouring of serenity, as if you yourself have become a radiant beam of light.

Stay in this place as long as is comfortable.

Please feel free to use your imagination and begin the process of harmony within your life. . . Simple mental shifts make huge impacts!

The Power of Forgiveness

by Dale Masker

Much has been written lately about the act of forgiveness. Forgiving someone can bring indescribable peace into your world.  But it can be one of the most difficult things to do.  Especially if you have carried a grudge against someone for a very long time.  It becomes part of your second nature to feel the bad feelings; the old hate, the anger and hurt all over again.  Reliving it and replaying it in your mind.  That activity runs in your subconscious like a virus scanner runs in the back of your computer.

It may become so natural that after a while you do not notice the little negative place in your psyche. You visit it in your conscious mind only when another event hits the trigger buttons from the old event and it all comes flooding back.  If your boss calls you on a mistake, it can cause you to have a subconscious flashback to a similar incident from your childhood when a teacher did the same thing, or a parent.  It will get added to the subconscious files that create a belief that creates an action to validate the belief.

When you forgive the person in the original act, you begin releasing the emotions surrounding the event.  When the emotions are released the act of forgiveness can free you as well.

Frequently the perpetrator of the original event will have no idea that their actions caused any harm.  Confronting them can be useless; they will not understand what you are so upset about.

The act of forgiveness is for you, not them. They usually do not live in the chains that you place upon yourself when you carry the negative emotions associated with the event.  Forgiveness will release the lock on the chains and begin to free you.  Sometimes it will take every scrap of strength in your soul to impart the forgiveness but it will be the most freeing act for yourself that you can take.

Take a look into your world and see who you can begin to forgive today.

Food for Thought:

Religions throughout the ages have proclaimed that humanity is but one big family. Most of the principles followed by one religion are also echoed by another.

To help gain a better understanding of just how similar the various religions are, we present the following collection of writings based on the principle of "Golden Rule."

Hurt not others in ways you find hurtful.
-- Buddhism Tripitaka, Udnana-varga 5.18

Therefore all things whatsoever you desire that men should do to you, do you evenso unto them; for this is the Law and the Prophets.
- Christianity Matt. 7:12

Tzu-Kung asked: "Is there one principle upon which one's whole life may proceed?" The Master replied, "Is not Reciprocity such a principle? ...what you do not yourself desire, do not put before others."
-- Confucianism, Analects of Confucius

Try your best to treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself, and you will find that this is the
shortest way to benevolence.
-- Confucianism, Mencius

This is the sum of the Dharma: do not unto others that which would cause pain if done to you.
-- Hinduism, Mahabharata

Not one of you is a believer unless he desires for his
brother that which he desires for himself.
-- Islam, Forty Hadith of an-Nawawi

What is hurtful to yourself do not to your fellow man. That is the whole of the Torah and the remainder is but commentary.
-- Judaism, Talmud, Shabbat

A man should wander about treating all creatures as he himself would be treated.
-- Jainism, Sutrakritanga

All things are our relatives; what we do to everything, we do to ourselves. All is really One.
-- Native American, Black Elk

The sage has no interest of his own, but takes the interests of the people as his own. He is kind to the kind; he is also kind to the unkind: for Virtue is kind. He is faithful to the faithful; he is also faithful to the unfaithful: for Virtue is faithful.
-- Taoist. Tao Teh Ching

An it harms none, do as 'ye will.
-- Wiccan

That nature alone is good which refrains from doing unto another whatsoever is not good for itself.
-- Zorastrian, Zend Avesta

Love one another, right now.  --The Youngbloods
